L. Gregory Jones is dean of the divinity school and professor
of theology at Duke University Divinity School. He serves as coeditor of
Modern
Theology and is a regular contributor to the "Faith Matters" column in
The
Christian Century. Jones has taught at Loyola College, where he was chair of the
Department of Theology, and is ordained in the United Methodist Church and a member of the
Western North Carolina Annual Conference. His publications include
